Remedial Acu-Massage

All the Relaxing Benefits of Massage

Combined With the Therapeutic Effects of Acupressure

WHAT IS REMEDIAL ACU-MASSAGE?

Its my own term for a combination of therapeutic remedial massage with the use and stimulation of many of the acupuncture points on the body. As such it offers the benefits of both methods.

Back, neck, shoulder and scalp massage is combined with lymphatic drainage techniques on the chest, legs and abdomen. Additionally foot reflexology is encorporated - all with the use of organic grade essential oils and magnesium 'oil',

NEURO-LYMPHATIC REFLEX POINTS

LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE MASSAGE

The lymph system  (also known as the sewer system of the body) is responsible for taking our waste out to 'garbage disposal areas' in our body.

The lymph fluid also contains lymphocytes which are our 'fighters' against cancer cells, bacteria, virus and other pathogens. We need our lymph system working and circulating well so it can do its job!

However, the lymph system is unique in that it requires 'pumping' or physical movement action to keep it flowing as the vessels don't contain valves (like our ciculatory system does).

For this reason, our lymph system needs special attention to keep it healthy. Lymphatic massage techniques are one excellent way to help. (Read on for more tips).

VIBRATIONAL MASSSAGE

Vibration is an often-overlooked modality that can be very effective in helping chronic muscle pain and tighteness.

Vibration is one of the five classical massage strokes used in Tui Na, a Chinese Massage technique that dates back 3000 years.

The action of fine vibrations create 'pressure waves' within tight muscles, which allows the muscle to stretch, relax and increase blood flow within it. The result is - less stress on vertebrae, unalligned vertebrae often re-align spontaneously and nerve compressions are released.

Additionally, the lymphatic fluid is assisted to move and re-circulate, particularly for areas of swelling, oedema and cellulite.

The Dr. Graeme vibrational massager is used often in combination with traditional hand massage work, with excellent results.
